There are tons of nice gas stations and even some truck stops in DFW which means you don’t have to look very far to fuel your company trucks and equipment. However, these stations are still retail stations, so you have to deal with retail traffic at the pump and pedestrians sneaking around your truck while you’re trying maneuver in or out of the station.
Fortunately, there’s a little known secret in DFW called the Commercial Fueling Network (CFN). CFN is a national network of commercial fuel stations called cardlocks that are specifically made for businesses and there just happens to be 30+ of these stations spread throughout the metroplex.
So what’s the deal with these CFN stations? Why should I consider fueling at these locations?
What Does A DFW Commercial Truck Stop Look Like?
Well let’s take a look at this West Dallas commercial fuel station located right off the I-30 and Westmoreland rd.
As you can see there’s a lot of things missing from a regular gas station. There’s no c-store, no traffic, and there’s a ton of room to maneuver a truck in and out without making a three point turn to get fuel as seen in the aerial photo below.
There’s two other things about these stations that you can’t make out by the picture that are extremely helpful for most fleets.
One is that the diesel pumps are commercial rated high flow pumps which means you can fill up large diesel tanks in matter of just a few minutes so you can get back on your route quickly.
The other is that these commercial truck stops carry other types of fuel products at the pump that other gas stations don’t like red dyed diesel and def at the pump (diesel exhaust fluid).
Where Are The CFN Commercial Truck Stops Located In DFW?
Here’s a map of all the CFN stations in the DFW metroplex.
The best way to find CFN stations is to download the CFN APP and select “CFN Cardlock” and “CFN retail” in the filters tab .
Then press locate me or enter your address and locations will start popping up. You can also find locations on your desktop here and apply the same filters mentioned above.
How To Start Fueling At CFN Stations
You need a CFN fuel card to get access to all the CFN fuel stations and all the types of fuel at each location. Some CFN stations also accept other commercial fleet cards such as Fuelman, WEX, Comdata, and Voyager however these cards may not allow you to purchase specialty fuels such as red dyed diesel and def.
