ComData MyFuel Fleet Card Review

Serving fleets big and small, Comdata has created a fuel card that seeks to save you both time and money while fueling your fleet. Which I can say without hesitation, is a promise they make good on as they offer thousands of locations, discounts to match, driver controls and excellent reporting.

Locations

With a ComData MyFuel Fleet Card, you’ll have access to over 7,000 fuel stations nationwide. Which in comparison, is a far lower level of acceptability than the 10’s or 100’s of thousands of locations other cards have to offer. However, don’t give up on this card just yet. Because even though the card has a low level of acceptability, it still has several attractive features that just might make it the card for you.

Discounts

Typically, discounts/rebates offered by fuel cards are limited time offers but not with this card. ComData has made deals with each and every one of its accepting locations so that you can save everytime you purchase fuel with their card. This a unique feature not only of the ComData MyFuel Fleet card, but of fuel cards in general and one that should be seriously considered as a massive benefit.

Reporting

With ComData, you can be sure that they’re doing everything they can to make your fuel program experience as convenient as possible. Which is why they offer such things as real-time purchase alerts, automated IFTA and 2290 filings and tools to manage all of your licensing and registration needs. Which allows you to spend the time you would have spent on these things, focusing on your fleet instead.

Controls

ComData offers a very limited number of controls, only allowing fuel managers to control the amount of spending a driver can make at one time. Leaving the time of day, and the day of the week drivers can make purchases to vulnerable to theft. As a result, the level of control ComData has to offer is far less than that of other cards and far less than what I believe is necessary in order to safely manage a fleet

Overall Grade: Because the number of locations and level of control is so much less than what other cards have to offer I cannot give this card a grade higher than a B. To learn more about alternatives to ComData click here.
