If your truck requires diesel exhaust fluid (def) which most diesel trucks 2010 or newer do, you’ll need to find a place to buy def to keep the truck running.
Sure you can go to Walmart or an automotive store to buy small packaged jugs, but it’s a pain to carry around jugs in your truck until you need to fill up.

How To Use A Gas Station DEF Pump
Just like you would fill up your diesel tank. Make sure you don’t put def in the diesel tank though!
- Swipe your card and select the def pump number
- Insert the nozzle into the def tank
- Start filling up
- Remember the def tank is small so it should take less than a minute to fill
