How to Apply for a Cardlock Fuel Card

Managers of every trucking fleet knows what a cardlock can do for a fleet, not only in regards to compatibility but savings and convenience as well. It’s what makes them the premier fueling option for trucking fleets across the nation. So if you’re a fleet manager who isn’t using a cardlock network to fuel your fleet, then now just might be the time to look into starting one. To help you on your way, we’ve compiled a list of all the things you’ll need to do when applying for a cardlock fuel card.

There are two cardlock fuel card programs for you to choose from, CFN and Pac Pride. Both of which are great cards, alike in the controls, reporting and alert options they have to offer. The only difference being that Pac Pride is accepted at 1,300 cardlock locations while CFN is accepted at 2,300.

Once you’ve decided upon a cardlock network, the next you thing you ought to do is email them, listing the name of the city and state your company is located in. Once received, the cardlock network you’ve chosen will email you back a list of fuel card distributing companies that are located in your area.  

Once you’ve received a list of all the fuel card providers in your area, it is then up to you to research each one and decide what works best for you. I suggest that you look specifically into whether or not a particular card distributor has placed fees on the card i.e. set-up fees, processing fees etc…

Once you’ve decided upon a distributor, all that’s left is to apply for a fuel card! There are several ways of going about it; email, phone call, online application etc… all of which are equally efficient and effective. Taking only 5 minutes to apply, all you need is a description of your business (name, location, # of trucks, banking info etc…)  and you’re on your way!
