If you’ve ever worked for a company that uses CFN (Commercial Fueling Network) fuel cards to purchase fuel, you have probably dealt with a driver that is stuck at the pump with a locked out CFN fuel card. Unfortunately it’s an all too common occurrence. On the bright side it does mean your fuel card is doing its job to secure your company’s fuel purchases.
Fortunately there’s a quick and easy solution to reset a locked out cfn fuel card and get your driver back on their route. Watch this video and read the steps below to learn how to reset a locked out CFN fuel card online without having to call your fuel card provider.
Why Your CFN Card Is Locked Out
Your CFN fuel card is locked out because your driver has exceeded the number of transactions allowed per day. Keep in mind every time a card is swiped and starts processing, it counts as a transaction. The most common reasons why drivers exceed their transaction limits are;
- Driver is entering invalid pin number too many times
- Driver is swiping the card at the pump too many times
- Driver needs more fuel than allowed
Step 1: Login To Your CFN Account Online
Go to the CFN account login and enter the login information provided by your CFN fuel card provider and press enter to login.
Step 2: Select The “Cards” Link
Once you’re logged in you’ll see five options to choose from; transactions, authorizations, cards, account summaries, and update profile. To reset a card, you’ll need to select the cards link.
Step 3: Reset The Transaction Count
After you select cards, you will arrive to a screen called the card menu. At this time, enter the last 7 digits of the locked out fuel card in the “Go To Card” field and press the “Reset Txncnt” button. This will automatically reset the card to be ready for use. You’ll now see that the card is active in the status field.
