When looking into cardlock fuel cards, you will probably come across the CFN (Commercial Fueling Network) fuel card and Pacific Pride (Pac Pride) fuel card. Like many people, you will probably wonder, what’s the big difference?
Good question. Here’s the breakdown.
What is Pacific Pride and CFN?
In short, Pacific Pride and CFN are both separate cardlock fueling networks made up of fleet card companies that issue fleet cards and own cardlock fuel stations. Pac Pride fuel cards can access Pacific Pride stations and CFN fuel cards can access to CFN stations.
CFN and Pacific Pride are competing cardlock networks that have completely different origins, but are now owned by the same parent company, Fleetcor. As you can see in the diagram below Fleetcor owns Pacific Pride, CFN, and Fuelman.
What’s the major difference between Pacific Pride and CFN?
First off you have to understand, Pacific Pride and CFN are cardlock networks and Fuelman is a retail network made of retail gas stations (Chevron, Arco, Valero, etc.) and truck stops (Pilot, Flying J, etc.). Both CFN and Pacific Pride fuel cards have access to the Fuelman network which is roughly 55,000 locations.
The major difference is, Pacific Pride fuel cards can only fuel card Pacific Pride cardlock and CFN fuel cards can only fuel at CFN cardlocks.

Which cardlock fuel card is right for your company?
Being that both fuel cards are so similar, it really all comes down to convenience. I would suggest searching for Pacific Pride and CFN cardlock locations near you and determine which network has more locations along your route. You can search for Pacific Pride locations here and CFN locations here.
